using QR-codes for inventory control in stockd

The stockd platform leverages QR-codes (2D barcodes) in both inventory lookup and verification processes. First, generating a QR-code label for any item is as simple at clicking on the +label switch in the item.

The QR code is generated instantly and can be printed on a standard label printer. stockd includes a human-readable unique item number as well — as a user convenience for quick visual ID.

When scanning the code, stockd uses a persistent user-selected mode. If you go to the menu, you can toggle the mode in one click. This sets the action your device will take on every scan until you change modes. Imagine doing inventory verification of a shelf full of boxes in seconds — just scan, scan, scan..., done.
